6762-21. United States Lighthouse Service Lighthouse Lamp Feeder / Oil Filling Can c.1900. Scarce, original, early United States Lighthouse Service brass oil can is in good condition. The bottom of the can bears the distinctive oval stamp: “U. S. L. H. DEPOT, 3 DIST., LAMP SHOP, STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.” Brass lamp feeder is missing its top bail handle and spout cap/chain, but is otherwise complete and original, with its original side handle, chain and top cap. No repairs other than hole plugged where one side of top handle was mounted. This is a great example of this sought after style of lamp filling can for your display. Base measures 7” diameter. Overall height 6 ½”. Overall diameter approx. 11 ½”. (VG). $1,195.
