3057b,c. (photo) U.S. Coast Guard 40-Foot Fireboat CG-40362-F c.WWII. Clear, close official Coast Guard photos measure 8” x 10” and show great detail of 40-Foot Fireboat CG-40362-F underway. Twenty nine such fireboats were built during the War by Wheeler Shipyard in Brooklyn, NY. Ther were constructed of wood double planked, with square stern and flat bottomed. They were equipped with 7 fire monitors and a water curtain to protect the craft from the heat of the fire. Photo is b/w, unusually clear and close. Dates from c.1944-1945. Great detail. (VG+). $36 each or $64 for the pair.
