SQ-05. (framed hand-colored photo) Lifesavers Launching Surfboat c.1901. Beautiful vintage framed hand colored photo print showing a lifesaving crew launching the surfboat likely on Cape Cod’s sandy beach. With waves and storm clouds in the background, this delicate image is quite beautiful. The Keeper and six surfmen can be seen in their kapok life vests in great detail, as is the surfboat. Measures overall 30” x 18”. Marked “Copyright 1901 by Alfres S. Campbell Art Company, Elizabeth, NJ.” Photo print is in original wide red oak frame with wood backing. This print exhibits beautiful detail and coloring and must be seen to be appreciated. A very nice Life-Saving Service collectible. Light foxing coming through from the wood backing, one 2” tear left margin. (VG). $795.
