2777. (souvenir vase) c.1900. An unusual, bold, bright cobalt blue and yellow commemorative vase featuring a fine b/w image of the “East Chop Light [house], Oak Bluffs, Mass.”. This unusual item is quite attractive and bears a fine, detailed, b/w 1 ½-stork keeper’s dwelling, lighthouse tower and out-buildings from across the roadway. Vase is quite bright and distinctive, and measures 4 ¾” high by 3 5/8” wide and is enhanced by distinctive ornate handles on each side, and by a bit of a decorative gilt trim on the handle and around the image and rim. Marked “ Germany ”. Clean, no cracks or checks, a very detailed, pretty piece for your display, unusual coloration. (VG+). $224 net.
