21519b. (souvenir plate) Nauset Light, Eastham, Mass. c.1900. This early piece is quite bright and handsome and enhanced by gilt trim and bright hand colored image. Bold plate features a detailed full color image of the center of the “three sisters” lighthouses and keeper’s house in Eastham. Before the advent of a lighthouse lens that could produce a flash, three lighthouses were utilized in Eastham to aid mariners in recognizing the location. The three light towers were replaced by a single cast iron light tower, moved up from Chatham, in 1923. The plate measures 5 7/8” in diameter. Marked “Bravaria”. Plate is clean, bright, no chips or cracks, just light wear to gilded edge. An unusually bright, bold piece for display. One of the best images I have yet found. (VG+). $188.
