12445b. (souvenir creamer) Wellfleet [Mayo’s Beach] Light House, Wellfleet, Mass. c.1900.

12445b. (souvenir creamer) Wellfleet [Mayo’s Beach] Light House, Wellfleet, Mass. c.1900. Lovely decorated crème colored round creamer featuring a large, detailed full color image of the lighthouse at Mayo’s Beach. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the new cast iron tower and brick and clapboard keeper’s house built in 1881. This light station as shown, remained in service until it was discontinued on March 10, 1922. The light station property was sold at auction on August 1, 1923, to Capt. Harry Capron. Nice detailed image on the bright china piece and rose coloration make a good contrast on this rare item. Backmarked “Wheelock, Vienna, Austria.” Nicely decorated with gilding framing the image and gilt highlights. Creamer measures 2 ½” high and is clean, only light wear to gilding No cracks or checks, a very detailed, unusual presentation with bright image for your display. A striking piece. (VG+). $295.
