Also includes pasted on rear pocket of this scarce edition are two of the original three maps: Map of the Islands of Boston Harbor, color Map of Romantic Boston Bay and Cape Cod. This Special Updated Edition also includes 26 page addendum chronicling 1944’s gales and disasters. Illustrated with over 40 b/w photos. Well written account of the many shipwrecks and sea disasters off the New England coast, including the Minot ’s Light Storm, The Portland Gale, the story of the Somerset , Cape Cod and Nantucket shipwrecks, and so much more. As always, includes many accounts of lighthouse and life-saving personnel and operations – Most interesting and quite difficult to find now. Overall clean, tight, in worn dj, some fading to spine, some toning to pages. Some ink enhancement to image on dj. (VG). $138.
