3083. (photo) U.S. Coast Guard Buoy Tender Sycamore WAGL-268 c.1942. Clear, close, original 7” x 9” Coast Guard photo shows great detail of USCGC Sycamore (WAGL-268). She was a 114-foot, 230-ton buoy tender, one of three such vessels (her sisters were the Dogwood (WAGL-249) and Forsythia (WAGL-63/WLR-63)), built to replace the stern paddle-wheel steamers that the Coast Guard decided were too expensive to maintain. She was stationed on the upper Mississippi River. Photo is b/w and includes id. Clear, close view, great detail. This is a rarely seen view. (VG+). $38.
