1890. (photo) U.S. Coast Guard 45-Foot Buoy Boat CG-45303 D at Menasha, Wisc. c.1961. Clear, close original 7” x 10” press photo shows great detail of the Coast Guard 45-foot Buoy boat at Menasha, Wisconsin. The 45-foot buoy boats (45302 thru 45316) were built by the Coast Guard Yard at Curtis bay to operate in sheltered areas of relatively shallow water. They have a hydraulically powered A-frame for hoisting buoys and weights over the bow with a 4,000-lb capacity. Photo is b/w and includes credit line and description on back. Dated October 9, 1961. Clear and close view. Crop marks upper margin. Rare photo. (VG+). $44.
