Welcome to Kenrick A. Claflin & Son

Featured on our web site and in our monthly web catalogues are new and out-of-print books, documents, post cards, photographs, maps and charts, engravings, lithographs, uniforms and insignia, tools, lamps, lens apparatus, equipment and apparatus and much more relating to these heroic services.

We now issue most of our catalogues on line rather than by mail. This allows us to issue more catalogues and feature more items, with better photos and descriptions. Let us know your email address and we will email you monthly as our catalogues are posted.

17138. (photo) Life-Saving Service Watch House, Rye, NH c.1954. Rare photo shows the old watch house from the Rye Life-Saving Station. Information written on the back indicates that the watch house stood at the life-saving / Coast Guard station until the station was closed in 1938, when it was then moved to Rye Harbor. The image shows the watch house at Rye harbor following Hurricane Carol in 1954. Rare image measures 3 ½” x 5” and is clear and fairly close. Notice in the background what may be a post for a post or lens lantern. We were not aware of this watch house at Rye until this photo. (VG+). $34.
