2451. (original lighthouse cartoon art) “Tiny Tim” & “Ching Chow”. Signed by the artist Stanley Link c.1952
2451. (original lighthouse cartoon art) Signed by the artist. Stanley Link was a wonderful cartoonist from Michigan City , Indiana . I have acquired some of his original comic strips and am offering this special one here. This is the signed, hand drawn image that was delivered to The Chicago Tribune newspaper to be published. It contains two different cartoons with “Tiny Tim” & “Ching Chow”. This comic art is framed under glass and features little Tim & Dotty visiting Larry the lighthouse keeper. Views show the lighthouse keeper on the gallery outside his offshore lighthouse as the story progresses. The beloved Ching Chow comic strip features Ching Chow ice skating. It is dated January 6,1952. The entire piece is about 22 1/2″ x 15 3/4″ and in great shape including a wire for hanging on the back. The wood frame is nicely detailed with a gold trim. The cartoon itself is in good shape drawn on heavy cardboard with some light occasional spotting, a few mock-up publishing marks . Please note that this original comic art is a one of a kind piece. (VG). $288.
