Photographer unknown. Labeled in pen “Grandpa Arno & work gang.” On May 18, 1908, the Cottage City Gas and Electric Light Company changed its corporate name to become the Vineyard Lighting Company. In February, having added to its plant suitable equipment for so doing, changed its gas from non-illuminating to illuminating water gas. In 1920, the Vineyard Lighting Company and the Buzzards Bay Electric Company merged to become the Cape and Vineyard Electric Co. Image measures 5” x 7” on 8” x 10” mount. Photo is close and clear, just a hint of soiling. Mount has some foxing and moderate staining. (VG-). $165.
