15240. (lot 4 photos) U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock, Long Island c.1930’s. Clear, close original b/w photos show great detail of the new “Roosevelt style” Coast Guard station at Shinnecock on Long Island. These buildings are called the Roosevelt-style because they were built during the Franklin Roosevelt administration. The buildings were all white with red roofs, green shutters and many have a lookout on the top. Views include great details of the crew quarters building, detached boathouse, cistern, beacon, and tall flag mast with characteristic Coast Guard wind vane. Photos 3½” x 4 ½”, 4” x 6”, 5” x 7”. Also includes large copy photo of Coast Guard station and lighthouse. Great detail. Rare views. (VG+). Lot $68.
