21255b. (commemorative creamer) c.1900. “Light-House, Biloxi, Miss”.

21255b. (commemorative creamer) c.1900. Attractive, stout creamer, featuring a detailed full color image of the “Light-House, Biloxi, Miss”. A distinctive piece, featuring a fine, full color image detailing the tall cast iron light tower, walkway and keeper’s dwelling perched on the watery point. The Biloxi Lighthouse was one of three Mississippi Sound Lighthouses authorized in 1847. Cast iron plates were bolted together to form a metal wrapper around a brick liner. The tower was completed in the spring of 1848. The creamer is of a classic style, enhanced by a short spout and handle on top with a very pretty gilded borders and cobalt blue body color. Marked “Wheelock China, Made in Germany for Biloxi Hardware Co., Biloxi, Miss. Dresden”. This beautiful collector’s piece measures a full 3 ¾” high x 3 ½” wide. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece, clean and bright, very little if any wear. (VG+). $88.
