29101. (print) Life Saving Rescue 1889 by Casey Holtzinger. Wonderful large 10” x 13” 3-color print depicts life-savers as they launch their surfboat to a vessel in distress just off the beach. Wonderful detail includes the horse-drawn surfboat carriage and the crewmen in life vests as they work to launch through the breakers. Casey Holtzinger’s paintings and prints are well known around the world, and can be seen in numerous museums and galleries nation wide. His painstakingly detailed work reveals the character of the subjects he has studied and drawn for a lifetime. In recent times, Casey Holtzinger (now age 75) has become one of the areas best known, and most sought after maritime artists. Many of his works are on display at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum at the Norfolk Naval Station. Highly regarded by the U.S. Navy for his insight into marine subjects, he has painted several U.S. Naval Ships upon their commissioning.
