Illustrated with many photographs, the author relates the experiences of Captain Charles Norton Swan who entered the Lighthouse Service in 1894 and remained until his retirement in 1933. Capt. Charlie served at many stations including light vessels and shore stations, ending the last 29 years at Bald Head Island Light. A very nice account of his life and work in the Lighthouse Service.
