7197mmm. [newspaper] Light-House Tender Sunk. The Boston Statesman. August 23, 1872. Paragraph notes that yesterday during a severe squall, the Light-House Tender Florida was capsized in Newburyport bay. The men on board “were obliged to jump for their lives but were able to secure one of the boats before the vessel went down.” The Florida had sailed from Boston to supply fuel to the light-houses along the coast. Full newspaper contains four extremely large pages with news and advertisements of the day, quite clean, folded. Fine for reading, quite interesting. (VG). $22  Closeout $11.
