A compilation of seven nautical tales by the author includes SURFMAN BRAINARD’S “DAY OFF”, a 33 page tale of the life of Florida surfman Ashley Brainard as he longs for his day in the city away from station life. As his day comes a schooner is driven ashore bringing him back to the station and his task rescuing her crew. A scarce early life-saving tale.
