9121b. Stonehouse, Frederick. ISLE ROYAL SHIPWRECKS. Marquette, MI. 1983. 1st. 182p. Soft wraps. In this interesting volume, noted author Fred Stonehouse presents a survey of many wrecks in the area that are of major interest. Isle Royal presented a massive hazard to shipping attempting to safely clear the island inroute to other ports. Ignoring the “I remember when…” type of tales, the author sticks strictly to the facts and presents a most interesting account from the 1870’s to the 1950’s. Well illustrated with over 70 photographs of the period. (VG). $18.
