Includes information on the use of breeches buoy apparatus, signaling, rescue by surfboat, and much more. Also includes complete listing of all Life-Saving Districts and stations in the united States. Three-part folded case with printed  cover. Folded, 3” x 6”, illustrated. Unusually clean, tight, hinges well worn but intact [most unusual], light wear, in good condition. Includes early hand-written note indicating provenance: “Capt. Lorenzo Jordan owned ¼ sh[are] in sch. Nellie Grant built @ Ellsworth, Me ca.1878 (?) USLSS inst part of Nellie Grant papers was in coastwise trade.” (VG) .$385 .
