- (photo) Light Vessel No. 11 Scotland Retired at Staten Island c.1925. Clear, close, original 8” x 10” press photo shows excellent detail of LV-11 Wreck of Scotland (NJ) upon retirement at Staten Island Lighthouse Depot. The lightship was built in 1853 and served for 72 years, reportedly the oldest vessel in the Lighthouse Service and possibly the oldest vessel in any US Government agency at that time. She served on four station assignments including Nantucket New South Shoal, Brenton Reef, Relief (3rd District), Scotland (NJ). Photo is b/w and includes date and description on back. Two corner chips, otherwise clear, close view, great detail. (VG+). $48.
