- (mounted photo) Horseshoe Shoal Range Light House, Delaware River, Pennsylvania / New Jersey c.1910. Authorized by act of Congress in 1880, frame structures necessary to form two ranges for passing the Horseshoe Shoal, Delaware River. There were three lights on Pennsylvania side and three lights on New Jersey side, of which this was one. We are not yet sure which of these this was. From Kraig it may be Horseshoe Range East Front 1913. These lights were first exhibited on October 1, 1881, and the light at Fort Mifflin light-station was discontinued. Thanks to Kraig at Lighthousefriends.com and Deb at Lighthouse Digest Magazine for helping to identify this image. Appears to be mislabeled on back in pencil “light house Washington Park 135”. Overall measures 4 ¼” x 6”. Clean, crisp. (VG+). $36.
