House of Representatives

April 14, 1846

 Sir:

           Your letter of the 11th inst enclosing a petition signed by 435 persons against the removal of W. E. Bates, Keeper of the light-house at Milwaukee has been received and placed in the files of the Department as you desired.

 Very respectfully, Your Obt Servent,
