27465e. (stereoview) View Highlands Baptist Tabernacle, Martha’s Vineyard by Joseph W. Warren. This view is identified on the back in pencil as “Baptist Tabernacle Highlands”. It shows an interesting front view of the open air tabernacle – a six sided structure with a large tower or cupola in the center and a raised stage at the right of the photo. The detail is excellent. With a magnifying glass, you can make out large numbers of empty chairs at far left and at far right under the trees, and even a ladder leaning up against the structure to the right of the entrance. View is on a buff colored mount with printed backmark reading “Stereoscopic Views, Made for sale, wholesale and retail, by JOSEPH W. WARREN, COTTAGE CITY, MASS. Views of Residences made at short notice.”. Light overall foxing. (VG-). $58.
