23555g. [document] Very early US Lighthouse Establishment document on Light House Office, Portland, Maine April 16, 1862. Document is from J. D. Seavey, Light House Clerk, 1st Light House District and is addressed to Mr. Joseph Lawler, Keeper, Pemaquid Point Light House, Bristol, Maine. . The one page form notes: “Sir, In examining your return for the quarter ending March 31st., 1862 I find that you have made a mistake of 1 pint of oil in carrying the amount expended in March with the recapitulation on the last page. You have on hand to head your next return 61-3-1. Please cinic… the error and inform me by return of mail. “ Document is in very good condition and includes original franked envelope embossed “Lighthouse Office, First District, Official Business”. A fine opportunity to obtain an important early Light House Establishment related document at an excellent price. (VG+). $128 net.
