Probably the only history of Coast Guard small arms training ever written, this thoroughly researched and detailed account by retired Master Chief Gunners Mate William Wells in response to the question: “How were things [small arms training] done on the old days?”. This encyclopedic work is the result. The author’s work goes back to the 1780’s with the establishment of the Revenue Cutter Service and includes their weapons training as well. Produced in limited quantity, this is an extremely rare reference on the subject. Includes tables, photos, footnotes, bibliography. (M). $124.
