- Thaxter, Celia. REPRESENTATIVE POEMS. [self published] Boston. 1977. 16p. Soft wraps. Poetess and sister to Oscar Laighton, Celia Thaxter grew up the daughter of the Light Keeper of the light-house on the Isle of Shoals in New Hampshire. In this scarce booklet, the author offers the reader a chance to discover a number of her poems afresh The poems included herein show her pure enjoyment of nature, but recognizing that many of the joys remain transient in nature. “Impatience” addresses her mother, while “Sandpiper” addresses the world of childhood. For those who appreciate the coastal region, this might be wonderful reading. Light wear. (VG-). $12.
