Welcome to Kenrick A. Claflin & Son

Featured on our web site and in our monthly web catalogues are new and out-of-print books, documents, post cards, photographs, maps and charts, engravings, lithographs, uniforms and insignia, tools, lamps, lens apparatus, equipment and apparatus and much more relating to these heroic services.

We now issue most of our catalogues on line rather than by mail. This allows us to issue more catalogues and feature more items, with better photos and descriptions. Let us know your email address and we will email you monthly as our catalogues are posted.

35043. (vest) U.S. Navy CPO c.1918.

  1. (vest) U.S. Navy CPO c.1918. Vest is of navy-blue cloth (wool) , cut single breasted, with 6 small 9/16” gilt regulation Navy buttons (NA113) and no collar. Vest with watch pocket on each side and lower pocket on each side. Vest is lined with white linen and on back in blue satin, with draw strap. One ¾” cut but otherwise in excellent condition, clean and bright. With old dealer’s tag marked “WWI Navy CPO (machinist) coat and vest. Coat is not included. $285.

This vest is of a similar design and period, and with a change of buttons ($148) would be a wonderful addition to your Lighthouse Service uniform display. Keepers sourced their uniform pieces from many sources and their vest may indeed have been surplus military from their prior service.
