40- CG Utility Boat Station Miami c.1980’s – 1990’s
The 40-foot Utility Boat (UTB) was a versatile Coast Guard vessel used from 1950 to 1983 for search and rescue, patrol, towing, and firefighting missions. Coast Guard Station Miami had a number of these 40 footers including CG’s 40503, 40515, 40541, 40590, 40595, and 40605. The below items were removed from one of these boats scheduled for disposal and given to a well respected 40-year Coast Guardsman in commemoration of his service prior to transfer to his next duty station.
