22216b. (banner) U.S. Coast Guard, World War II, Serving With Pride in U.S. Coast Guard Banner. c.1942. Very difficult to find these original banners that once hung in the windows of homes where a son or daughter was serving their country in the Coast Guard. Banner measures 9” x 12”, is adorned with gold tassels on the bottom and is hung on a small dowel and tasseled cord. In the center is the United States Coast Guard emblem in blue with crossed anchors surrounding a red and blue Coast Guard shield. Body of banner is lettered “Serving in U. S. Coast Guard”. Banner is intact, crisp, well cared for with only light ageing. Edges are beginning to fray slightly. Most difficult to find this style WWII banner. An unusually nice example of this style banner. (VG+). $54.
