- (set 9 photographs) Construction of Minot’s Ledge Lighthouse c.1840’s Views by Joseph Lebherz. Wonderful lot of 8 ½” x 11” photo views recreated by historian Joseph Lebherz. Designed to illustrate his upcoming book on the subject, these wonderful views follow the construction of the 1840’s iron skeleton lighthouse on Minot’s Ledge off the coast of Cohasset. Using hand-built models of the light tower sections, the drilling machinery, ships of the era and combining them with images of workers and equipment of the period, Joe was able to put together dioramas of each phase of construction which he photographed. Together this set tells the story of the construction of this ill-fated light tower at this dangerous Massachusetts location. These are a work of art – when I first opened the set I thought that they were actual photos until I realized that none exist. This is a wonderful set for display, for illustration (with permission) or for your collection. Set 9 photographs (8 b/w, 1 color), 8 ½” x 11”). © Joseph Lebherz. (M). $345.
