Illustrated with over 34 fine photogravures of the Society’s Life-Saving stations, boats, crews, life-saving medals and equipment. Chronicles the founding and early activities of the Society including the establishment of stations and huts-of-refuge, rescues and resuscitations, Medal of Honor winners, etc. Includes listing of huts and stations and medal winners from 1786 until 1916. A wealth of information on this early Service, beautifully presented. Clean, tight, very nice copy. Becoming quite difficult to find. (VG+). $154.
