1873. (photo) U.S. Coast Guard Buoy Tender Jonquil WAGL-330 Portsmouth, VA. Clear close original photo with caption appears to be an official U.S. Coast Guard photo and provides detailed view of the vessel’s starboard side. The U.S. Coast Guard commissioned her USCGC Jonquil (WAGL/WLB-330) on 29 August 1946. She was converted to a buoy tender and assigned to the Fifth Coast Guard District, based out of Portsmouth, Virginia. Jonquil serviced aids to navigation (ATON), participated in search and rescue (SAR) and law enforcement as needed. Jonquil was decommissioned on 15 September 1969 after 23 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Photo measures 7 ½” x 9 ½” on 10” x 10 ½” mount. Quite nice for display. Clean, only light wear.
