Includes information on U.S. Army and State Guard insignia; U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard insignia; distinctive indications of women in armed forces; heroes of wartime science and mercy (including U.S. Public Health Service, U.S. Maritime Service, American Red Cross, Army Transportation Service, Naval Air Transport Service (NATS), Civil Air Patrol, U.S.O., etc.); women in uniform; aircraft insignia; and Navy Motor Torpedo Boat insignia, Silver Wings, among many others. Provides complete color and b/w reproductions of all approved military insignia of the time and in use since 1913, with full notes on the design and symbols. Invaluable in identifying Coast Guard and other military insignia of the time. Invaluable reference and quite difficult to find. Clean, tight, nice copy. (VG+). $95.
