Includes information on U.S. Army and State Guard insignia; U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard insignia; distinctive indications of women in armed forces; heroes of wartime science and mercy (including U.S. Public Health Service, U.S. Maritime Service, American Red Cross, Army Transportation Service, Naval Air Transport Service (NATS), Civil Air Patrol, U.S.O., etc.); women in uniform; aircraft insignia; and Navy Motor Torpedo Boat insignia, Silver Wings, among many others. Provides complete color and b/w reproductions of all approved military insignia of the time and in use since 1913, with full notes on the design and symbols.
