8109-106. [flag and commissioning pennant set] U. S. Coast Guard c.1953-1966. Original set includes official U. S. Coast Guard Ensign size #4 (29” h x 50”w) and Commissioning Pennant size #7 50” for use on small and medium size craft. Ensign manufactured for Coast Guard has had almost no wear, in nearly new condition. Made of nylon – wool bunting. Field consists of vertical red/white stripes, with Coast Guard shield on crossed anchors overlaying on the right portion, with the words “Semper Paratus”. Top left corner is white with U. S. eagle and shield with bunched stars above. Marked “U.S.C.G. Ensign No. 4”. Label on hem identifies maker as Paramount Flag Company, San Francisco, Cal. Accompanying official U. S. Coast Guard Commissioning Pennant No. 7 (2 ” h x 50”w) was flown from the mast-head on commissioning and is very good, only one repaired ½” tear and a few very small holes from mothing. Field consists of 16 vertical red/white stripes, with 13 printed on blue stars on white field at the head. Pennant is otherwise clean and crisp. Fresh, clean, extremely rare, this is a wonderful item for your display and quite difficult to get these original pennants. Wonderful set for your display and quite difficult to get in such fine condition. Ensign about as nice as you will find. (VG++). $245.
