8109-128. [commissioning pennant] U. S. Coast Guard Commissioning Pennant from USCGC Steadfast (WMEC-623) c.1970. Official U. S. Coast Guard Commissioning Pennant No. 7 (2 ”  h x 50”w). Pennant was flown from the mast-head on commissioning and is fresh, lightly flown. Pennant was flown on the USCGC Steadfast (WMEC-623) in 1970 and included is an image of it flying above the ensign. Made of  nylon – wool bunting, probably by Annin &  Company. Field consists of red/white stripes, with 13 printed on blue stars on white field at the head.  Fresh, clean, extremely rare, this is a wonderful item for your display and quite difficult to get these original pennants.
