Welcome to Kenrick A. Claflin & Son

Featured on our web site and in our monthly web catalogues are new and out-of-print books, documents, post cards, photographs, maps and charts, engravings, lithographs, uniforms and insignia, tools, lamps, lens apparatus, equipment and apparatus and much more relating to these heroic services.

We now issue most of our catalogues on line rather than by mail. This allows us to issue more catalogues and feature more items, with better photos and descriptions. Let us know your email address and we will email you monthly as our catalogues are posted.

3090. (photo) U.S. Life-Saving Station, Cold Spring, New Jersey. H.A.B.S. photo. 8” x 12”. The Historic American Building Survey (HABS) and the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) collections are dedicated to preserving America’s architectural history by gathering a diverse range of historic photographs and architectural designs of buildings throughout the country. This clear, close photo provides great detail of the Bibb #2-Type station built in 1890-91 one half mile east of Cape May city. Note the unusual two-tone shingles on the facing gable end, and the Keeper with his wife enjoying the summer weather on the porch. Just to the right of the corner board can be seen the eave of the original 1855-Type station. Exceptionally clear and close view, professional digital print. (F-). $38.
