Letter dated April 11, 1835 from John Chandler Collector & Superintendent Of Light Houses, District of Portland, Maine to Hezekiah Prince of Thomaston Maine. Chandler writes that he is enclosing a check for $110.88 to be paid to Joseph Berry’s salary for the year as keeper of an unnamed light house. Sent from Portland with post mark. Stampless cover postmarked April 12 at Portland. Good condition, only light browning at folds, some wear. Quite readable. An important early Light House Establishment document. $139 net.
